Standalone Traffic Monitor and Automatic Protection Switch  Fibre Sentinel is a traffic monitoring system which is protocol independant and detects any intrusion at the optical level. Each module is 1U high and 19" rack mountable. The transmission is shut down within 25ms and an integrated backup switch diverts traffic to a different route within a further 4ms. Two units are required per optical link, giving full duplex protection.
Chassis based Network monitor  Designed for operation as part of the Point SystemTM, these Ethernet based media converters/Network Interface Devices (NIDs) include a fibre based tap to a 1000Base-SX port to allow a full copy of the network traffic to be monitored. The cards can be remotely managed. Transmission is fully compliant to the 10Base-FL Ethernet, 100Base-FX Fast Ethernet or 1000Base-X Gigabit Ethernet standard. Incorporating SC duplex interfaces, these media converters are designed to operate on all types of multimodeand singlemode fibre in accordance with ISO11801.
