EMS (Element Management Software) A GUI/SNMP based software package to enable complete network management from remote locations. This software is interoperable with HP Openview and supports multiple users with individual access controls. The software is portable and operates on a range of platforms including Windows, Linux and Solaris.
Remote monitoring and reconfiguraion of all Avvio Networks equipment is achieved via a sequence of intuitive, graphical pages. The complex and cryptic SNMP nomenclature is converted into a more user friendly format by the EMS software.
 A
visual dispay of the network is presented, which displays the network elements
and their status. The IP address of each network element is shown, together
with any alarms or events associated with that element. A colour
code determines the operational condition or severity of any problem. Green,
normal with full operation. Red, critical with loss of signal. Pink, major with
signal degradation. Yellow, minor with correctable bit errors.
Simply
clicking on the network element coloured red will then drill down to the
specifc element. The chassis information is displayed, including any
relevant alarm or events history. Provision to set the specific IP
address, and a dedicated icon gives access to the Telnet
window.
Clicking on the specific module then drills down to that module. The module information is displayed, including any relevant alarm or events history. Provision to identify specific port information and remotely reconfigure wavelength, routing etc. Any fault areas are highlighted in red, click to drill down and obtain specific information.
